Chapter 14 - Reciprocal Pornouns
Definition
Pronouns to indicate 2 or more persons have done or are doing same activity. It make sentence more simple
There are 2 types:
1. each other - 2 persons in formal condition
2. One another - more than 2 persons in informal condition
Note: Reciprocal always in singular
example
1. Raymond helped his wife. His wife helped Raymond. So if we use reciprocal to make it simple: Raymond and his wife helped each other
2. Raymond is talking to James and Mario. James is talking to Raymond and Mario. Mario is talking to Raymond and Janes. So we use reciprocal to make it simple: Raymond, James, and Mario are talking one another.
Function
As object of Verb
3. The students have topic to discussed one another - correct because subject more than 2
4. We respect each other - correct because object only 2 persons
as object of preposition
5. They are speaking with one another - correct because object of preposition with
Possessive
6. We didn't give one anothers gift at fare wall party - wrong because reciprocal is always singular and form in possessive is another's
