Definition
a word is used in place of (phrase) noun therefore take place of noun in sentence.
example
Dita is my girlfriend - She is my girl friend, she (pronoun) replace dita (noun)

The job of pronoun in sentence
1. Subject of the verb, perform the action and put before main verb
Did you ask? - personal
These car expensive - demonstrative
Who stole my bike? - interrogative
No one called me yesterday - indefinite
2. Subject complement, describe subject and comes after linking verb
May i call Dita?
This is she - personal pronoun (personal)
This is her - personal pronoun (personal)
what is the correct one? she or her
This - subject,
is - linking verb (connect subject to any equivalent word in sentence) and linking verb don't take object. So the form subject - linking verb - subject.
Correct: This is she (personal)
The balls for the game are those (demonstrative)
The answers of the exams are where? (interrogative)

3. Direct object, answer question 'who' or 'what' and comes after transitive verb
The prize goes to you? (personal)
The courier dropped this (demonstrative)

4. Object complement, direct follow and modify direct object. Answer question to, of, for what/who
